Richard Devine in Berklee

Richard is a pretty popular guy amongst the IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) scene around the world. He started tweaking with modules, consoles, Csound, MAX/MSP since 15 and released his first electronic music album at 18. By then, he was studying Computer Science in Georgia and made a name for himself in the IDM scene. He didn't complete his undergrad studies and continued to pursue music. Speaking of passion. Then again, he was interested in visual arts. His music is inspired by drawing different shapes of waveforms in which he perceives as art. Then he goes to the computer and tries to emulate his drawing.

Too bad I can't let you listen to his music here, but u can listen to some of his samples at his website. He is primarily a self-taught sound designer who made it to be Native Instruments' 'music tester'. NI is produced Reason, Guitar Rig, FM7 and many other software synthesizers. They were one of the first companies who transformed the hardware synthesizers into software modules.

Anyway, his week of presentation really opened me up to another world of music. another realm of music. We hungout at a restaurant nearby and we talked alot about life and experiences. surround sound, music and design. I'm inspired.
