On the day I went to NYC, it was the last day of strike. Without a map, I walked aimlessly to the main road in Chinatown after alighting the Fung Wah bus. US$15 from Boston - NYC! What a bargain...
Just when I wanted to admit that I lost my way, I saw ppl flagging down cabs. It was a 'no-government' situation. Thank God the cabby was a nice Indian guy and I even managed to share the cab with another girl going mid-town Manhattan. It was $20, and so we split.
You see ppl cycling, walking, and the roads were jammed with all sorts of vehicles. The gal whom I share cab with told me she left home (Brooklyn) and walked all the way to Chinatown early in the morning. She was obviously a student, as she said she was on her way to work in midtown at 4pm.
The cabby advised me to take an express bus from Grand Central to Newark Airport. Thank God for these guys. I finally arrived the airport at 6pm. Pat arrived with my HARP at about 7:30pm!!
We then took a shuttle back to Chinatown and continued our journey by Fung Wah bus from NYC - Boston.
Arrived Boston at about 1am and took another cab back home! what a journey...
