I've been here for almost a week. Things are going on great. It's a big change alright, climate to lifestyle to time. My life now is like the time difference between Singapore and Boston. 180 degree out of phase.

School's 5 min walk from home. Managed to visit the Prudential Tower, apparently the 'landmark' of Boston. Interesting, but not as posh and as busy as orchard road. Just passing thru', getting myself oriented to my surroundings. Maybe because they have much bigger piece of land here...

To realize I'm such a rebel back at home, I think I've found haven in Berklee. There are plenty of people like me - refusal to conform. I've been so busy testing out stuff and attending orientation. One thing I like about American education is the freedom to choose your own schedule - from the scratch. The course offerings - it's so cool... all that I ever wanted to learn. People here are so friendly, ever ready to help. Then again, it may be because we have paid so much.

I like meeting people of different culture and learn from them. This week, I've met 6. One, my roommate (housemate) - a contemporary Jewish guy who is intrigued with Buddhisim and a cab driver - a disheartened Iranian man in his 50's with an MBA. My coursemates from Sweden, France, Indonesia, Ireland, Mexico and of course, the States were cool too. We all came in to this school because we all have the same background and goal - we do not fit in the traditonal music education system, and each individual here have a strong passion, equipped with our own style.

To be honest, the admin system of the school sucks, it's the faculty - all practising and successful musicians, some are author if popular book titles - all ready to teach you whatever they know, and to help you achieve your goal - if you know what you want in life.

I can't wait for school to start tomorrow...
