Snowstorm on Feb 12

It was the first snowstorm of the year - long overdue for Winter 2005. So there I was, stockpiling food, just in case... hehee. I was so excited about it that I couldn't sleep until about 2am and woke up at 8am the next morning, though it was a Sunday. Took photos of the progress of the storm almost every hour. I finally took pics after every 2 hours when I couldn't really tell the difference with the one hour gap... look at the snow accumulating at the back of the black car @ 8am, 9am, 11am, 2pm and 4pm (2 pictures).

It was white, nice and cold... and I'm glad our apartment's heater was working well. Spent time at home installing my new software bundles of Peak LE, Protools LE, Waves, NI Komplete II and my MBOX2. Managed to do some homework and fix some levers on my harp (well, i'll include the progress of my levers installation in another blog)!

Finally at night, we found time to play snow in one of the nearby park. It was awesome, especially walking in the 3 inch snow - some parts of the streets (where the wind blew towards) had untouched virgin snow up to my hip! Now I see the benefit of not being tall...

The snow was powdery but nevertheless soft and smooth... the temperature that night was pretty cold, about -14oC. But with proper clothing (well wrapped), it was ok. I took out my hand once off my glove, and it became numb in 2 minutes... that was how cold it was. We had snowball fights, snow angels, and random 'games' for about 2 hours outside.

The best game we had that night was "Finding the Canon Ixus camera". It was like a treasure hunt game, organized by Rozhan - accidentally. He lost it while playing in the snow and realized it was lost only when we were about to head home. It was really a funny sight. We started by looking for it randomly, each in our own isolated spots, until Rozhan decided to make a human chain - to plough the snow with our feet. After dunno how long (when we were at the verge of giving up), he asked us to help him one last time to search the place thoroughly - even in untouched areas. and guess wat... we found the camera.

It was the best winter exercise i ever had, and to quote Rozhan, I felt that my butt became firmer after the 'exercise'. Thank goodness it was a fruitful event, though tiring. Otherwise we would have gone home disappointed, especially Rozhan.
